Creativity & Design

This is an interesting take on three-dimensional artwork and the use of light into a coherent piece.

There is a lot of potential behind this technology and the applications it could have for rapid prototyping, or even simple artwork.

This series of chairs has a unique spin the materiality normally associated with furniture. Instead of high quality woods or metals, simple and inexpensive plastic in the form oc coat hangers are used.

Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe

This timeless piece of artwork portrays great depth and social commentary through minimalistic craft.

The potential behind this technology is also vast. Typing can be done easily and efficiently almost anywhere at any time.

Five More Creative Designs

Microcosmic World Made from Park Trash

This artist uses garbage and debris to create stunning combinations of two and three dimensional pieces of art. This merging of painting, sculpture and recycling is a unique and refreshing statement on sustainability.

C. Kabiru Visual Art

These glasses are part of a series of metal sculpture combined with eye ware. The unusual pieces usually transcend the designated purpose of glasses and exist purely as a stylistic novelty.

This incredibly minimalistic design is a clever and unique take on the well established market of sound amplification.

This product combines modern technology with a vintage and timeless medium. The practicality of the piece could be questioned but the overall appeal is made very apparent.

Creative Designs

Skewed, Anamorphic Sculptures & Engineered Illusions

Creativity is often a clever twist or approach on something that is already well established. For instance this sculpture takes the complexities of form and adds a new element by incorporating reflection.

Pencil Printer

This printer enables the ability to print in pencil lead, which opens up the opportunity for erasing. Also instead of ink cartridges, the printer only requires pencil stubs, making it a force for sustainability.

Bar of Soap Dispenser

This is a clever device that finds a new calling for bars of soap. The bottom of the dispenser has a piece of metal that works like a cheese grater which shaves off bits of soap for use in washing your hands.

Stunning Landscapes made with Sugar, Cotton, Feathers, & Chocolate

Clever choices of materials can also be an example of creative design. This photographer uses sugar, cotton, feathers and chocolate to make miniature landscapes, which with the addition of lighting create beautiful photorealistic masterpieces.

Carved Book Landscapes

In the same spirit as the previous design, this artist creates stunning landscapes using a peculiar medium, which in this case is the carving of books.

Conclusion

I've mentioned in previous entries that creativity doesn't have to involve reinventing the wheel. Creativity can simply be the addition of unique touches on what is already established.
